Laura DockrillMay 27th @ The Albany promises to be a great night out for literature lovers. Previous attendees will know all about the magic of StorySLAM:Live. If you’ve not been before why not make it this time that you do ? It’s promising to be the best one yet. Charlie Dark is returning fresh from his trip to New Zealand and Australia to host, so he is certain to have loads of new stories to tell us about that. Laura Dockrill is taking a break from the final stages of publication of her new book to set off the evening with a performance to inspire and entertain. If you’ve not seen Laura in action before take a look at this video of her reading from her last novel Ugly Shy Girl.

As usual the evening’s stories will be wrapped around to perfection by the special combination of music and visuals created by Derek Richards.

Very pleased to welcome Rachel Holmes Head of Literature and Spoken word at the Southbank Centre to the judging panel. It’s been Rachel at the helm introducing a cutting edge programme to the SBC that includes the innovative London Literature Festival so she certainly knows a good thing when she sees it. She will be joined by our regular judge Emma Hewett who is the Director of Spread the Word – London’s writers’ development agency. Completing the panel will be Laura, so all in all an inspirational bunch for our writers to impress.

The new booking feature for readers seems to be a good addition to the site. Let us know what you think. We’ve already had several entries for next week, there’s some great titles. Not many spaces left so make sure you act quickly if you are intended to enter. We’ll be keeping back spaces for on the door entrants too.
Very exciting stuff, hope to see you there.
